Today I'll be posting another depressing list.(Get the tissues out).
I love to see all kinds of movies depending on my mood and what better to post than a list of the most depressing movies. Some I've seen and some I've not. But I've read enough about the movies that I've not seen to be posting here..I'll try to post the movies that are depressing throughout rather than just a sad ending..Oh another thing..Most of the movies would be recent ones because I don't really like "really" old movies..Plus there won't be any spoilers.So here you go..My list of the most depressing movies..again in no particular order..
Requiem for a dream (2000)
How can a depressing m
ovie list be complete without including this movie..If you're on drugs or something then please don't watch this movie. This movie will make you sick.
This movie is about the effect of drugs on four different people and how it ruins their lives..If you don't like depressing movies move on..This one is not for you..
Dancer in the dark (2000)
The movie plot says that an east European girl goes to America with her young son, expecting it to be like a Hollywood film. Well it certainly isn't and i'm sure you'll agree after you watch this movie. A brilliant performance by the lead actress 'Björk'. According to wikipedia It was reported that the shoot was so physically and emotionally tiring that she swore off acting ever again.
Grave of the fireflies(1988)
So you though animation movies were for kids eh? Try watching this one. Grave of the fireflies is a japanese movie about a young boy and his little sister's struggle to survive in Japan during World War II and what a struggle it is. Watch it to believe it.
The Mist(2007)
Many horror movies are kind of depressing (they certainly are if you ask me) but this one's a bit special. This movie is scary and creepy. Its about fighting for your survival. Imagine this..Blood thirsty creatures unleashed on you and you fighting for your life. Interesting eh?. Oh and the ending is dark and sad which is always good isn't it? Don't miss this one..
Lilja 4-ever(2002)
You get a chance to start a new life and you think it'll all be better and okay but does it always go this way? Not in this movie. Its about a young girl fantasizing about a better life. She thinks she finally gets gets a chance for a better life but does she? Watch it to find out..
Leaving Las Vegas(1995)
Drinking, prostitute, death..It might remind you of some cheesy flick but this movie's not. Nicholas Cage is an alcoholic who has lost everything due to his drinking and he comes to Vegas to drink himself to death. Here he meets and forms a friendship with a prostitute.
Angela's Ashes(1999)
Another movie about poverty and a family trying to make ends meet. The movie is based on an autobiography and is depressing to say the least.
21 grams(2003)
21 grams is a drama film of how an accident brings together three different people and how much it affects their lives. Sean Penn and Naomi Watts both give great performances in this must watch tragic movie.
Million Dollar Baby(2004)
Everyone's heard of this movie which won four Oscars. Nothing more to say. Its about a woman trying to establish herself as a boxer. And does she succeed? Errrr watch it!
The Road(2009)
Another survival tale. This time its about a man and his son trying to survive by all means possible..
The descent(2005)
Another horror movie in the list. This movie is about a cave expedition gone wrong. What happens inside the cave..well I know it.its for you to find out!
